Like many of you, we were excited for Disney+. But we decided we wanted to use a different password. So, before logging in on all our devices, we changed it. It was an easy process, like you’d expect for any online account. We logged in to most, but not all, of our devices early on Tuesday afternoon. But when we started trying on Wednesday morning, it told us the password was incorrect.
At first we thought it was a device issue, so we tried clearing the cookies, leaving the app, having someone else try the password, but the phone always said that the password was wrong. We thought maybe we had hit the 10 device limit unwittingly, but after counting devices, we were only at 7. So that couldn’t be it. Then, we logged out of a couple devices, thinking we’d verify that they could still log in. But no such luck! Each device that we logged out was stuck out. We couldn’t log back in. So, we decided it was a server issue, and hoped Disney would fix it soon.
This morning (Thursday) when I woke up, it still wasn’t working. So, on a whim, I tried my original password. And sure enough, it logged in with no problem. I changed the password (again) to the new password, and now it’s working fine. This is a strange bug, but it looks like Disney’s servers reverted accounts to a previous version.
We’ve seen other people around the internet in a similar situation – they changed the password, and couldn’t log in any more. So if you’ve changed your password and are having trouble logging in, try your old password before spending the time with tech support.
