Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

There have been rumors that Disneyland’s Halloween party would eventually move over to California Adventure. It’s actually happening this year and we are excited!! Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party will be Disneyland Resort’s new paid Halloween event taking place on select nights form September 6 through October 31.

Oogie Boogie from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” will host this party with special appearances from Disney Channel’s Descendants and of course all your favorite Disney villains. Keep reading to find out what California Adventure will be offering this year.

“Villainous!” – a new World of Color Show

Now that World of Color is up and going, Disney has created a brand-new version just for this event. Oogie Boogie will tell a Halloween tale about a young girl named Shelley Marie who is trying decide who she should dress up as for Halloween. Shelley will go on a twisted and unforgettable journey exploring the villainous side of some of your favorite Disney characters. And of course, the story will be enhanced with fountains, lights, lasers, projections, and other special effects.

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail Transformation

The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail located in the Grizzly Peak area will be transformed with lighting, projections, sounds, and special effects to create an ethereal world of Disney villains. There will be a series of show scenes that immerse you in an enchanting world.

Treat Trails

Your favorite treat trails from Disneyland will also move across the esplanade. Known for giving out tons of candy, you will also be able to meet some of your favorite villains like the Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” or even Oogie Boogie himself.

DescenDance

A dance party, inspired by Disney Channel’s popular “Descendants” franchise will take place in the Backlot area of Hollywood Land. An energetic dance crew from the Isle of the Lost will lead the party and getting everyone moving to the beat. The Backlot DJ will take over after the DescenDance crew has to return to their realm.

“Frightfully Fun Parade”

The “Frightfully Fun Parade” will also make the move to California Adventure. The Headless Horseman from Sleepy Hollow will lead the parade, which features Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Jack Skellington, the Wicked Stepmother and Stepsisters, and many other mischievous Disney villains.

Mickey’s Trick and Treat

If you’re looking for something for younger guests, you’ll want to check out the new Mickey’s Trick and Treat show which will be playing at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land. This interactive stage production will include dancing, not-so-frightening scary-tales, and of course candy!

And More…

Additional Halloween magic will be brought with Character encounters throughout the park. The facade of Carthay Circle will also be transformed as bats swarm and green energy pulses from within. Cars Land will also receive its Halloween decorations and attraction overlays. The park will also feature themed food and drinks available for purchase throughout the resort.

Tickets for this event go on sale Tuesday, April 23 for Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members and Disney Visa card holders. Tickets for the general public will go on sale Tuesday, April 30. The party will start at 6 pm, though your ticket will get you into California 3-4 hours early depending on the day.
