California Adventure's Redwood Creek Challenge Trail has received a new overlay for the Hoppers movie that released recently. The overlay adds new activities and displays senator and the movie, without making a drastic change to the area's identity.

The new activities are built around maps that you can get from the front of the area. But the map will take you on a scavenger hunt around Redwood Creek, and has a secret message that you can display. Each map is themed to a different character from the movie. Most things are the same, but the biggest difference being that each character has a different message to decode. After you've completed the activity, you can return to the friend and get a sticker of your chosen character.

Many of the signs around the area have been changed. Most of them aren't in any new places, they're just quick swaps to the new characters. And this includes the animal signposts around the park as well as some of the larger information boards.

Two larger elements have been added as well. One is a frequency display, in the place of the fire hazard level signed. The second is a large Beaver damn display in the area that is sometimes used as a small stage or meet and greet. These is used as part of the scavenger hunt.

Disney's claim is that this is a temporary overlay. Many of these elements are minor, I could see it going either way. Other than the Beaver dam display, the elements are small and would provide a quick retheme to a recent film. However, the movies results have been modest. It is unlikely that Disney will keep all of this long-term. With that in mind. At the very least, the Beaver dam display will need to be removed so it can be used for other events and activities, like Oogie Boogie Bash.

A stage has been converted to look like a small pond with a beaver dam around it. A beaver dam is also built in the middle, with a beaver sitting on top.
